Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard beam having such the strength as to sufficiently withstand large impact in a side collision with a simple structure and at low cost. SOLUTION: A projecting part 4 composed of a center flange 2 and ribs 3 provided on both sides of it and having an approximately trapezoidal section is formed on the approximately center part of a long thin beam main body 1 in the longitudinal direction of the beam main body 1, both sides of the projecting part 4 are continuously provided to side ribs 8 for forming both sides of the beam main body 1, and a plurality of beads 5 continued to both ends of the projecting part 4 are formed on both ends of the beam main body 1. Therefore, since the strength on both ends of the beam main by 1 is drastically improved, breakage of both ends can be prevented even if large impact is applied.
