Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a high-strength, long-life flat belt with holes by making up a belt body of a thermoplastic elastomer, then setting the belt body in an unstretched state in which it is not treated for stretching, and further, embedding reinforcing cords in the longitudinal direction of the belt in such a way that the cords are arranged at a specified pitch across the width of the belt. SOLUTION: A flat belt A is made up of a thermoplastic elastomer and numerous fitting holes 2 are formed at a specified pitch in the entire longitudinal direction of a belt body 1. In addition, reinforcing cords 3 are embedded in the longitudinal direction of the belt body 1 in such a manner that the cords 3 are arranged at a specified pitch on both sides of each of the fitting holes 2 across the width of the belt body 1. Consequently, the flat belt A is toughened by the physical properties of the thermoplastic elastomer of the belt body 1 and therefore, the useful life of the belt A is prolonged. Besides, the belt body 1 is not treated for stretching after molding so that it is not stretchable. For this resin, this transmission belt can be easily manufactured and also s free from irregularities in the molecular orientation. The reinforcing cord 3 is, for example, preferably of a high-strength aramid fiber.
