METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CUTTING OFF OUTSIDE CIRCUMFERENTIAL SURFACE OF CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and a compact, light weight device for cutting off the outside circumferential surface of a cable which makes it possible to do a job in the air using the cable as a supporting body. SOLUTION: This device 1, fitted to the outside circumference of a rubber or plastic cable, is arranged so that it can travel in the longitudinal direction by itself being gripped with a roller. Rotating a rotary disc 45 on the outside circumference, this device 1 cuts off the outside circumferential surface of the rubber or plastic cable with a cutting blade 56 by rotating the cutting blade 56, supported by the rotary disc 45 so as to be movable in the radius direction of the rubber or plastic cable, and a profiling member 57, which, held by the rotary disc in such a way as to make the tip contact the outside circumference of the rubber or plastic cable, sets a thickness of the rubber or plastic cable which the cutting blade 56 cuts.
