PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make proper a touch on a screen and to facilitate replacement by forming a thin and long member of an elastomer material which is used while the end part of a columnar tool such as a pencil is converted with a thin and long member. SOLUTION: The cover 100 extends along the length from a far end to a near end 104 and a tapered part 110 extends from an intermediate position to the far end. This cover has a new opening part 105 at the near end 104 and increases in lateral length when the thin and long columnar body like an ordinary pen or pencil is inserted, so that the cover 100 can securely be fixed and detached by applying a radial compressive force to the pencil 103, etc. Further, the cover 100 is formed of the elastomer material which is not harder than a material such as polycarbonate used for a screen 112 and harder than an eraser and has a 60 to 90 durometer value of Shore A scale.
