PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it clear that a stepboard is for double riding by painting the left and right parts of the stepboard in different colors, and painting adjacent stepboards also in different colors. SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor 1 is provided with a large number of stepboards 5 connected endlessly from one landing 2 to the other landing. Railings 3 to be the whole side wall of the passenger conveyor 1, and moving handrails 4 synchronously interlocked with the stepboards 5 are mounted on both sides of the stepboards 5. In this case, the stepboards 5 are coated being laterally bisected, that is, a left part 5a is painted in blue, and a right part 5b is painted in green. The adjacent stepboards 5c, 5d are painted in different coloring from the left and right parts 5a, 5b, and painting of different color tone is executed to all the stepboards connected endlessly.
