THERMAL TRANSFER APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer apparatus capable of always applying good printing quality to the printing surface of a receiving material without receiving the adverse effect of the own wt. of the receiving material. SOLUTION: A thermal transfer apparatus consists of a pair of transfer parts 1, 2 arranged in opposed relationship at a definite interval and forming a gap permitting a plate or disk-shaped receiving material 5 to transfer therebetween, the head 3 arranged at the contact position with one surface of the receiving material 5 and having an ink ribbon on its transfer side and the transfer element 4 arranged at the position being in contact with the other surface of the receiving material 5 and opposed to the thermal head 3 and, when thermal transfer is applied to one surface of the receiving material 5 by the thermal head 3, the receiving material 5 is transferred in the direction almost vertical to the arranging surface of the thermal transfer apparatus 10.
