Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell apparatus and a driving method for the apparatus by which a catalyst is prevented from being poisoned and a reaction by the catalyst can be sufficiently carried out even in a high load region and a prescribed electricity generating efficiency can be maintained even in a low load region. SOLUTION: A load of a fuel cell is measured by a load detecting means 32, a S/C(steam/carbon) ratio is determined by a S/C ratio determining means 40 based on the measured load, and the supply amounts of steam A2 and a raw material gas A1 to be supplied to a reformer of a fuel cell are controlled by supply amount controlling means 56, 58, V2, V3, 42, 43 based on the determined S/C ratio.
