Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform positioning and operational control of cursor on a screen by inputting absolute coordinates on X axis and Y axis for the movement distance and the position of a finger-controllable member. SOLUTION: If the finger-controllable member 3 is moved at a rectangular place in a recessed part of a top housing, an inner slide member 34 is moved corresponding to it by a magnetism between a magnetic material 312 and a magnetic material 317. An X-axis photodetector 6 and a Y-axis photodetector 7 are attached on the side of the inner slide member 34. A control circuit board 18 is attached together with switches 11a to 13a in a cursor pointing device 1. These three switches 11a to 13a can be controlled by corresponding input keys 11 to 13 attached on the top housing. This control circuit board 18 performs transmitting/receiving of data with a computer system. Thus, operational control of cursor is easily performed using an absolute coordinate control technique.
