Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map information display device and a navigation device which improve function as a map in bird's-eye view by displaying a bird's-eye view display without decreasing the number of characters displayed, and can also improve the visibility. SOLUTION: Only character data are extracted from map data stored in CD-ROM, etc., (step S6); map data from which character data have been extracted are transformed into a bird's-eye view (step S7); next, the extracted character data are transformed into a bird's-eye view (step S8); and the bird's- eye-view-transformed map data ad character data are composited for being displayed in a composited map (step S9) through S12. Since the characters are displayed in a bird's-eye view as well as roads and background, this makes it possible to display a bird's-eye view without decrease in the number of characters to be displayed, improve the function as a map in a bird's-eye view and also improve the visibility.
