METHOD FOR TRANSPORTING METALLIC STRIP AND EQUIPMENT FOR TRANSPORTING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the meandering of a metallic strip at a high line speed and to assure the intrinsic productivity of treatment equipment by transporting the metallic strip subjected to a wet process treatment while pressing the metallic strip to a crown roll by a pressing roll. SOLUTION: The metallic strip 2 subjected to the wet process treatment is transported by the crown roll 3 in the state of adhering a treating liquid thereto, by which the meandering during the transportation is prevented. The shape of the crown roll 3 is preferably about 5 to 50% of the overall length in the length of the flat part at the center of the roll and about 0.05 to 1% in the inclination of the tapered parts at both ends. The outer periphery thereof is preferably subjected to lining of rubber, etc. The metallic strip 2 is pressed to the crown roll 3 by using a pressing roll 1 of the device for transporting the metallic strip described above, by which the liquid film thickness between the metallic strip 2 and the crown roll 3 is decreased. The pressing force of this pressing roll 1 is preferably set at about 150 to 400kgf/m and the liquid film thickness at about 10 to 50μm.
