Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the meandering of a metallic strip and to assure the intrinsic productivity of treatment equipment by transporting the metallic strip subjected to a wet process treatment by means of a roll having a crown and having grooves in an axial direction. SOLUTION: The metallic strip, such as steel band, subjected to the wet process treatment is ejected out of a treating liquid vessel, etc., and is transported by the roll while the liquid is held adhered thereto. At this time, the roll is provided with the crown and the groove in the axial direction. This crown is obtd. by setting the length of the flat part at the center of the roll at about 5 to 50% of the overall length and the inclination of the tapered parts at both ends at about 0.05 to 1%. The grooves are preferably about 3 to 30mm in inter-groove spacings and 2 to 20mm in groove depth. The flat part is preferably provided circumferentially with several pieces of the grooves of about 10 to 100mm in inter-groove spacings and 3 to 20mm in groove depth. Further, the metallic strip is preferably pressed to the roll by a pressing roll to accelerate the liquid draining on the strip.
