Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract a dotted line on a straight line in a binary image. SOLUTION: An image is inputted in 101 and black run data are generated in 102 and 103 from the image to find black connection components. Then white run data is generated in 106 from the image, white connection components are found in 108 from white run data, and unnecessary white connection components constituting characters and symbols are removed in 109. Then dotted lines are found in 110 and 111 as a one bar type white connection component. Then dotted-line candidates that the respective black connection components found in 103 belong to are found in 105 from the black connection components and white connection components found in 111 to find the dotted line and its area. Consequently, dotted lines on various straight lines can be extracted fast with high precision.
