Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent flawing and deformation at the time of array winding. SOLUTION: The spacer for carrying an optical fiber is equipped with a tensile-strength wire 1 arranged in the sectional center and a spacer main body 2 which is molded of synthetic resin integrally at the outer periphery of the tensile-strength wire 1. The spacer main body 2 has spiral recessed grooves 2a in its outer peripheral side along the length. The spiral recessed grooves 2a each have one end side open to outside. The respective spiral recessed grooves 2a are partitioned with ribs 2b provided at specific intervals along the circumference. At both corner parts of the tip side of each rib 2b partitioning the spiral recessed grooves 2a, arcuate parts (R part) 2c of >=0.2mm in radius are provided respective.
