Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a getter device capable of manufacturing a thin image display device with good productivity by forming a getter film melting electrode in a getter film adhering area and eliminating insulation failures due to a getter film between an anode layer of a face plate and a electron source of a rear plate. SOLUTION: Getter film melting electrodes 1a and 1b are formed in advance in a getter film formation area B of an inner face of a face plate 10 of an image display device, an inside thereof is air-evacuated and sealed, after which a getter 2 is heated by means of a high-frequency heater, a getter material of the getter 2 is evaporated and scattered, and a getter film 3 is formed. The getter 3 formes a conductive path among anode layers 4, 5, and 6 of the face plate 10 and electron sources 9, 13, and 14 of the rear plate 11 and causes insulation failures. Next, a voltage is applied between the getter film melting electrodes 1a and 1b, and insulation failures are eliminated. Thus, product yields of a thin image display device can be improved, and a getter device with its good productivity is obtained. |
