SPINNING OF FIBER OF SHORT LENGTH AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the process and apparatus for forming yarn for woven or knitted fabrics by using fibers of extremely short length. SOLUTION: In this process, the fibers of short length are made into paper. Then, the paper is cut in a certain width to form slitter tapes, which are soaked in a soaking solution, the soaked tape are squeezed to drain water and the drained slitter tapes are continuously twisted and wound up to prepare spun yarns. The spinning device for fibers of short length is equipped with a holder which can freely feed this slitter tape, a soaking means for soaking the slitter tape fed into the soaking solution, a squeezing means for squeezing the slitter tape to remove the water and a fine spinning frame for continuously twisting the squeezed slitter tape and winding up the twisted yarn.
