Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition having a good detergency, excellent foaming performance, being not irritating to e.g. the skin and refreshing after use by combining a surfactant having a specified structure with another surfactant. SOLUTION: This composition comprises a combination of an amidocarboxylic acid represented by formula I or a salt thereof or a dicarboxylic acid imide represented by formula II with a surfactant commonly used as a detergent or a sequestering agent and a cationized polymer. In formulas I and II, R is an 8-22C, desirably 8-18C alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl, A is H, a 1-6C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; or a 4-7C sugar residue or a sugar alcohol residue; X is -CH(OH)CH2 -, -CH2 CH(OH)- or the like; and M is H, an ion of a metal such as sodium or potassium or an ammonium ion.
