PRINTING PLATE HOLDING APPARATUS OF PRINTING PRESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with an exclusive part such as a changeover lever and to attach and detach a two-page width plate by one worker by bringing the press plate provided to a tension bar into contact with the slit groove surface of a plate cylinder through the spring force of a spring mechanism under pressure to transmit the centrifugal force of the press plate to the pressing part of a printing plate. SOLUTION: When a printing plate 5 is mounted on the outer peripheral surface 1a of a plate cylinder 1, the gripping side W2 of the printing plate 5 subjected to L-shaped bending processing is inserted in the gap between the gripping part of the plate cylinder 1 and a press plate 3 (plate pressing part) and, thereafter, the plate cylinder 1 is once rotated in a forward direction (arrow direction) while the printing plate 5 is pressed by the hand. Succeedingly, the end W1 opposite to the gripping end of a paper sheet is inserted in the plate pressing part to complete the mounting of the printing plate 5. This production plate holding apparatus requires no tool or changeover lever and the printing plate 5 can be attached to and detached from the plate cylinder 1 by one operation and the position of the printing plate in its lateral direction can be easily altered. Therefore, even in the case of a two-page width plate, it can be attached and detached by one worker.
