Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition comprising a water-soluble salt of a fatty acid composition having a specific composition, extremely excellent in solubility to water at a low temperature and detergency and capable of suppressing occurrence of nasty smell during storage. SOLUTION: This composition is a water-soluble salt of a fatty acid composition having a composition of (A) >=90wt.% of >=14C unsaturated fatty acid, (B) 30-60wt.% of 18C unsaturated fatty acid having two double bonds and (C) =14C unsaturated fatty acid having >=3 double bonds. The composition is obtained by neutralization reaction of the fatty acid with a basic substance (e.g. an alkali metal hydroxy, an alkali metal carbonate or ammonia). Thereby, a composition suitable as soap for good washing, industrial soap such as emulsifier for emulsion polymerization is obtained.
