Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heavy calcium carbonate filler having an excellent heat resistance, good in dispersibility, low in viscosity, when compounded with a resin, and especially useful for resin compounds by adding a small amount of a hindered polyol ester. SOLUTION: This heavy calcium carbonate filler is obtained by grinding limestone and subsequently classifying the ground product, wherein 0.005-3wt.% of a hindered polyol ester (e.g. trimethylolpropane trioleate ester, trimethylolpropane trilaurate ester, trimethylol propane tristearate ester) is added. The filler is preferably coated with a surface-treating agent such as a fatty acid, a resin acid or its ester, a coupling agent, etc.
