COMPOSITION FOR CONTROLLING BLIGHT BY MICROORGANISMS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition exhibiting wide effect on microbial blight of various kinds of plants and having strong synergistic effect by a simple and safe treating method, by making the composition include validamycins or their salt and an inorganic copper compound. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) validamycins, preferably a compound represented by formula I [R1 and R3 are each H or OH; R2 is H or D-glucopyranosyl; R4 is H or D-glucopyranosyl or D-glucopyranosyl-D- glucopyranosyl; R5 is formula II (R6 and R7 are each H or D-glucopyranosyl)] or its salt and (B) an inorganic copper compound. Furthermore, specifically, the component A is validamycin A and the component B is a basic copper chloride or copper (III) hydroxide and the content of the component B is preferably about 1-30 pts.wt. in terms of copper based on 1 pt.wt. validamycins or their salt.
