Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a backing method by which sure backing is executable, melt leakage is prevented and a welded joint part having good bead appearance is obtainable as the backing method for one-side submerged arc welding which uses the back flux and copper strap of a plate joint having a thickness difference as the backing. SOLUTION: The thickness of the steel plates to be welded in the backing method for one-side submerged arc welding using the back flux and the copper strap as the backing is defined as a thick plate t1 and thin plate t2 (mm), the thick plate side pushing up pressure of a copper strap pushing up mechanism having >=2 pieces of hoses as p1 (kgf/mm ) and the thin plate side pushing up pressure as p2 (kgf/mm ).
