Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the oxidation loss of active elements and to obtain an alloy ingot having the decreased variations in compsn. by measuring the active elements in the melt of active elementcontg. alloy scrap to set the deficient amt. thereof, separating slag from the melt, replenishing the scrap with the active elements and continuously casting the melt. SOLUTION: The alloy scrap contg. the active elements (Mg, Cr, etc.) is heated and melted by a high-frequency coil 1a in an inert or reducing atmosphere in a melting furnace 1. The active element amts. in the resulted molten metal M are measured by a fluorescent X-ray apparatus 13 and the deficient amts. of the active elements are calculated by a controller 14 from the measured amts. The amts. of the active elements to be added are then set. The molten metal M from which the slag S is removed in the melting furnace 1 is tapped to an active element adding furnace 2 by turning the melting furnace 1 and the deficient amts. of the active elements are added to the adding furnace 2 via an adding means 9 by the instruction from the controller 14. The molten metal M' added with the active elements is supplied to the pouring basin 3a of a continuos casting furnace 3 where continuous casting is executed. The alloy casting having the decreased variations in the compsn. is thus obtd.
