Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelled harvester for a blanch-cultured Welsh onion capable of continuously performing a series of harvesting works from the digging to the transportation of a blanch-cultured Welsh onion while accurately cutting the roots of the onion. SOLUTION: This blanch-cultured Welsh onion harvester is provided with a plowshare 6 to dig a blanch-cultured Welsh onion together with ridge soil according to the motion of a self-propelled machine body and conveyor apparatuses 10, 10 clamping the dug-up onion on the plowshare 6 from right and left directing the root downward and transferring the onion backward. The harvester is further provided with a root cutting apparatus 12 consisting of a combination of a comb-shaped root-aligning guide to receive the Welsh onion transferred by the conveyor apparatuses 10, 10 and introducing the root part of the onion into plural slits, a pair of right and left root-clamping rollers to align the base of the onion on the upper face of the root-aligning guide by clamping the root part of the Welsh onion introduced into the slit from right and left and delivering the onion slantly downward in the transfer direction, a disk- shaped base cutter to cut the base part of the Welsh onion aligned on the upper face of the root-aligning guide and a disk-shaped root cutter to cut the root remaining on the base of the Welsh onion at a part near the base.
