Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical battery capable of attaining large capacity and light weight by thinning a vessel and a sealing plate, and capable of preventing a breakage at the time of the excessive rise of battery internal pressure due to abnormal charging, improper use or the like. SOLUTION: A cylindrical battery is provided with an electrode group housed in a bottomed cylindrical vessel 1 having an opening 2 and a step part 4, an electrolyte contained in the vessel 1, an insulation gasket 9 placed on the step part 4 and arranged in a compressed state within space enclosed with the step part 4 and a bent part 3 after bending the upper end of the opening 2 inward, and a circular sealing plate 12 positioned within the gasket 9 and formed to have a vent hole. Regarding the cylindrical battery so formed with only the sealing plate 12 caulked and secured under the compression of the gasket 9, the sealing plate 12 has Vickers hardness between 170Hv and 250Hv. |
