Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both characteristics of wearing resistance and impact strength in a hot rolling gear. SOLUTION: In a hot rolling gear obtained by forming a gear part 81 and a gear root part 82 by hot rolling a crude material, the gear part 81 has the structure of mainly martensite and the surface layer part 82a of the gear root part 82 has the structure of mainly fine perlite. Since the surface layer part 82a of the gear root part 82 has the structure of mainly fine perlite and tenacity is improved by this structure, it is not necessary to reduce hardness by performing tempering or the like in order to improve impact strength and in the gear part 81 having the structure of mainly martensite, no reduction occurs in wearing resistance following hardness reduction caused by tempering or the like.
