PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject device capable of peeling continuously and stably by installing a gripping means holding and supporting the periphery of a rod-shaped vegetable in its longitudinal direction to form a supplying passage, a means for pushing the vegetable into the supplying passage and a cutting means excising the surface skin of the vegetable. SOLUTION: This peeling device for a rod-shaped vegetable (A) capable of peeling continuously and stably, is provided by installing a machine frame 1, a gripping means 2 for the rod-shaped vegetable installed at the machine frame 1, holding and supporting the periphery of the rod-shaped vegetable (b) in its longitudinal direction to form a passage 3 and capable of freely transferring in a centripetal direction, an operating means 4 performing the opening and closing of the supplying passage 3 for the vegetable (b) in concert with the gripping means, a delivering means 5 for the vegetable (b) facing its pushing and pressing body 32 to the supplying passage 3 of the vegetable (b) at the one end part of the gripping means 2, a cutting means 6 installed at the other end part of the gripping means 2 and peeling the vegetable (b) pushed and pressed by the pushing and pressing body 32 of the delivering means 32, a driving means 7 rotating the cutting means 6 at a prescribed speed and a discharging means 8 pulling out the treated rod shaped vegetable (b) to the downward direction of the cutting means 6.
