Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric dehumidifier in which a freezing cycle is provided to perform dehumidifying of indoor air, a desired dehumidifying efficiency can be attained and a dehumidifying capability can follow a variation of load of a cooling device. SOLUTION: An electronically controlled expansion valve 10 capable of changing a degree of an orifice in response to an inputted electrical signal is arranged just in front of a cooler 2 in a freezing cycle. In addition, there are provided a temperature sensor for sensing a temperature of suction air, a humidity sensor for sensing a humidity of suction air and a thermistor for sensing a surface temperature of the cooler. Additionally, there is provided a control device, these sensing signals are inputted, and a theoretical surface temperature of the cooler 2 giving 2 a desired dehumidifying efficiency is fed out in response to both temperature and humidity of the sucked air. Then, a degree of opening of the orifice of the electronic control expansion valve is adjusted in such a way that a surface temperature of the cooler 2 actually measured may become the theoretical surface temperature, thereby a flow rate or a temperature of the refrigerant supplied to the cooler 2 is controlled.
