TWISTED YARN OF MULTILAYERED STRUCTURE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a twisted yarn of a multilayered structure, having a fiber layer comprising a core layer, an interlayer and the outermost layer and the core layer or the interlayer comprising fibers removable by decomposition or dissolution and useful for producing a hollow-shaped twisted yarn by removing the core layer or the interlayer. SOLUTION: This twisted yarn of a multilayered structure is obtained by forming a fiber layer of a core layer, an interlayer and the outermost layer and forming the core layer or the interlayer of fibers removable by decomposition or dissolution (e.g. water-soluble polyvinyl alcoholic fibers). The resultant twisted yarn of the multilayered structure is preferably knitted or woven into a fabric and decomposable or soluble fibers are then removed. The yarn is converted into a shape of a hollow-shaped twisted yarn having about 30-50% percentage of hollowness thereof. Thereby, the weight of the fabric is reduced to afford the fabric excellent in softness, bulkiness, warmth retaining properties, stretchability, etc.
