Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sensing system in which the strain distribution and temperature distribution can be measured easily with high accuracy without requiring two light sources by propagating a pulse light from a photoswitch and a signal light from a frequency controller oppositely. SOLUTION: A photocoupler 2 splits a signal light CW1 from a light source 1 into signal lights CW2 , CM3 and a photoswitch 3 modulates the signal light CW2 optically to produce a pulse light. A Brillouin scattering frequency converter 4 produces a signal light CW4 having a frequency subjected to Briliouin frequency shift from the signal light CW3 propagating on an optical fiber 9 as a result of a specified amount of strain or a specified temperature being applied to the optical fiber 9. A frequency controller 5 shifts the frequency of signal light CW4 to produce a signal light CW5 . Among Brillouin scattering lights generated in a sensor fiber 6 depending on the external force or temperature being applied, only the light having frequency matching that of signal light CW5 from the controller 5 is detected by a photodetector 7. |
