METHOD FOR CONTROLLING CUT-OFF OF CONTINUOUS CAST SLAB AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and automatically judge an abnormal cut-off without delaying by picking up the spattering state of splash during cutting off a cast slab with an image sensor, dividing a picture into plural areas and judging as the abnormal cut-off in the case of becoming a preset threshold value or higher. SOLUTION: The cast slab 1 is cut off with a gas cut-off torch 3 and the cut-off part of the cast slab is picked up with the image sensor and a binarizing processing is executed with a picture processor. An area of the spattering position of splash in plural preset area window 9 is obtd. The area value is inputted in a judging device, and in the case the area value is the preset threshold value or more, it is judged as the abnormal cut-off. The threshold value is set to large at the position having high frequency of the abnormality in the area of the area window 9, and the threshold value is set to small at the normal position. At the time of judging the abnormal cut-off, the cut-off torch 3 is returned to the defective position of the cut-off and the cut-off is again executed.
