Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a hindrance in a flow passage with a spacer 9 inserted between a top plate and a stepped pan-like corrugated plate in the upper-most stage or leakage of medium (cold water or hot water) in a plate type heat exchanger 1 in which a plurality of stepped pan-like corrugated plates having a specified shape are piled up vertically and medium flow passages (cold water passage and hot water passage) in two systems are alternatively formed. SOLUTION: A coupler 8 is formed with a spacer fitting section 8a and then a spacer 9 is fitted to the spacer fitting section 8a. With such an arrangement as above, a horizontal motion of the spacer 9 in a rightward or a leftward direction as well as a forward or a rearward direction is restricted.
