CUTTER OF EXCAVATOR

PURPOSE: To prevent the holding phenomenon of a cutter post or to easily restore the cutter post if the holding phenomenon occurs by providing, independently of a main excavating body, an auxiliary excavating body which turns around the front and rear of the cutter post. CONSTITUTION: A number of main excavating blades 15 for excavating the ground are projected outward to both the right and left from an endless chain 14 stretched between the upper and lower ends of a cutter post 11, to constitute a main excavating body A. An auxiliary excavating body B which turns around the front and rear of the cutter post 11 and which has a plurality of auxiliary excavating blades 24 projected from an endless chain 22 is provided independently of the main excavating body A. When the auxiliary excavating body B is driven, earth and sand, etc., in a ventral space are dug to reduce the earth pressure. Therefore, by operating the auxiliary excavating body B at any time, the occurrence of holding phenomenon can be prevented. Alternatively, a state in which transverse motion, etc., is possible can be easily restored by operating the auxiliary excavating body B at the occurrence of the holding phenomenon.
