Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vector controller and control method for induction motor in which the secondary resistance can be measured accurately through a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A set frequency command unit 13 commands first and second set frequencies such that an induction motor IM is driven with a first set frequency and an exciting current memory 14 stores the exciting current and then the induction motor IM is driven with a second set frequency. A secondary resistance measuring unit 12 determines a measurement of secondary resistance based on the damping time of terminal voltage of the induction motor IM upon abrupt opening of power supply side when the induction motor IM is being driven with second set frequency, a flux command value, and an exciting current stored in the exciting current memory 14 and then sets a slip constant Km in a multiplier 8.
