Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost for production, operation and maintenance by controlling a position of upper/lower roll in the slab flowing direction corresponding to an incoming state of slab so as to effectively prevent buckling as well as not requiring many rolls. SOLUTION: At the state the tip part of a slab 1 enters in a width reduction die, an upper/lower roll 3 presses the tip part of slab 1. By this method, buckling of the tip part of slab 1 is prevented. At the state the slab 1 is completely accommodated in the width reduction die, the upper/lower roll 3 is roughly positioned at the center of width reduction die. At this state, buckling likely caused roughly at the center part of width reduction die is prevented. At the state the rear end of slab 1 is positioned at the downstream side of width reduction die, the upper/lower roll 3 is moved to the rear end of slab, that is the downstream side of width reduction die. By this method, buckling likely caused to the rear end of slab 1 is prevented. |
