Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire wherein its size can be reduced at the time of packing and its mounting is made easy. SOLUTION: When a liminaire 1 is packed for transportation, fluorescent lamps 24 and a shade 31 are detached therefrom and socket attaching parts 21 are detached from a luminaire body 2. Because the shade 31 is bisected, the width at the time of containing becomes the width direction of either the luminaire body 2 or the shade 31, which even wider, and therefore miniaturization of a packing box and reduction of packing materials can be realized. When the luminaire body 2 is mounted, the socket attaching parts 21 are attached to both ends of the luminaire body 2 so as to form an H shape, and the fluorescent lamps 24 and the shade 31 are attached thereto. The luminaire body 2 being held by one hand, an adapter 7 is caught thereon and attached to a ceiling and then the luminaire body 2 is mounted on the adapter 7. Because a lighting circuit unit 12 and a remote control unit 14 are disposed on one end side and on the other end side respectively of a luminaire attaching part 4 of the luminaire body 2, when substantially the center of the luminaire body 2, near the luminaire attaching part 4, is held by one hand, balance is not largely lost and therefore workability is improved.
