A third version of this new compound is an acylthio group-bearing vinyl ester of formula III (R is an alkyl; X is a divalent hydrocarbon) (e.g. pref. vinyl (acetylthio)acetate). Each of these new compounds can be used as a monomer for homopolymers or copolymers.
