COATING COMPOSITION AND FORMATION OF COATING FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition excellent in adhesiveness to resin molding members and metallic members, and capable of coating resin molding members separately or simultaneously without the need of chemical treatment or primer coating on these members. SOLUTION: This coating composition comprises (a) 50-95wt.% (on a solid basis) of a polyester resin and/or urethane-modified polyester resin 500-3,000 in number-average molecular weight, 80-200 in hydroxyl value and 5-20 in acid value, (b) 5-50wt.% (on a solid basis) of a methyl/butyl-mixed alky1etherified methylolmelamine resin and/or butyletherified methylolmelamine resin, and (c) 1-20 pts.wt. (on a solid basis) of a polyfunctional cyanate compound singly or its mixture with a polyfunctional maleimide compound based on a total of 100 pts.wt. of the components (a) and (b).
