Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To obtain an odorless colorless hydrogenated resin excellent in heat stability and weather resistance economically profitably by using an inexpenisive nickel-based hydrogenation catalyst. CONSTITUTION: In a process for decolorizing a tackifying resin containing oxides and/or peroxides by hydrogenation in the presence of a nickel-based hydrogenation catalyst, the process comprises bringing the tackifying resin into contact with an adsorbent having a mean pore diameter of 5-120nm and a specific surface area of 300-1,500m /g before or during the hydrogenation is carried out.
