Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the spread of regions adhered with adhesives of the connecting surface of waveguides and reins having an adhesive function by allowing the adhesive and resins having the adhesive function to escape from above the connecting surfaces of the waveguides in the connection of the waveguides and the optical fibers. SOLUTION: The waveguide device 1 is constituted on the assumption that the optical fibers are connected to, for example, surfaces 8d. Plural grooves 3 are formed on the surfaces 8a, 8b, 8c not formed with the optical waveguides 2 among the surfaces of the waveguide device 1. These grooves 3 function to allow the adhesives or the resins embodying the adhesive function applied on the connecting surfaces 8d to escape from the connecting surfaces 8d when the optical fibers are connected to these connecting surfaces. The sectional shape thereof may be arc, polygonal and other shapes in addition to a V shape and are not particularly limited.
