Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new hydantoin derivative expressed by a specific formula and useful as a preventing an treating agent for cardiac and circulatory diseases caused by abnormal accentuation of chymase inhibitor an angiotensin II production. SOLUTION: This derivative is expressed by formula I [X is a halogen, a 1-4C alkyl, an alkoxy or a (substituted) carboxyl; (n) is 0 or 1-5; Y is formula II [R is H, a halogen, hydroxy or a 1-4C alkoxy; (m) is 0, 1 or 2], etc.; Z is H, a 1-4C alkyl, a 7-10C aralkyl or a 2-5C alkyloxycarbonyl], e.g. (5S)-5- benzyl-3-(4-chlorobenzenesulfenyl)-imidazolidine-2,4-dione. Furthermore, the compound of formula I is obtained by reacting, e.g. a benzenesulfonyl isocyanate derivative of formula III with an amino acid derivative of formula IV and cyclizing the resultant imidazolidine ring using ethyl chlorocarbonate in the presence of a base such as triethylamine. |
