Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tinsel capable of preventing the corrosion of a metal layer from the cut cross section of the tinsel, and to provide a woven fabric having a tinsel decoration. SOLUTION: This tinsel comprises a tinsel body produced by cutting a sheet S comprising a film 1 and a metal layer 2 and a top layer 4 formed on the film 1, and a protective coating layer 10 formed on at least the metal layer- exposing end surface of the tinsel body. The protective coating layer 10 contains one or more kinds of substances selected from fluorinated silicones, fluorine compounds, silicone oils, silicone greases, perfluoroalkylpolyethers, perfluoroolefins, mineral oils, alkyl naphthalenes, polyalkyl phthalates, polyphenyl ether, petroleum waxes, fine crystalline waxes, paraffin waxes, and polyolefin waxes.
