Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head for a magneto-optical recording device capable of achieving a high transfer rate by a magnetic field modulation system. SOLUTION: A flying system magnetic head 1 is provided with a slider 7 floated by an air stream S generated from a rotation of magneto-optical disk D, and a magnetic pole 10 for generating an auxiliary magnetic field, which is composed of a head core 8 and a winding 9 which are mounted on the slider 7. The slider 7 is made of metal such as iron, etc., and formed in a plate shape. The underside (a disk sliding surface) of the metal made slider 7, which faces the magneto-optical disk D, is applied ceramic coating 11. On the upper side having no ceramic coating of the metal made slider 7, each of fins 7e, 7e,... is integrally formed to protrude in parallel with each other, in a direction along the air stream S generated from the rotation of the magneto-optical disk D.
