DEVICE FOR BENDING TIP PART OF COIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To upward bend the tip part of a coil to prevent contact when the tip part of an uncoiled coil is passed through a coil transporting equipment. SOLUTION: At the point of time when the tip part 3 of a coil 6 which is passed through a leveler 5 is projected by a prescribed distance on the downstream side from a support roll 4, the movement of the coil is stopped. Next, by lifting the elevating/lowering roll 1 from below the coil 6, abutting on the undersurface of the tip part 3 of the coil 6, lifting the tip part 3 as it is, abutting the surface of the coil 6 on the support roll 4 and, further lifting it, the tip part 3 of the coil 6 is upward bent. When the tip part 3 of the coil upward bent, the tip part 3 of the coil 6 becomes approximately horizontal coupled with the weight of the coil itself and the transporting equipment is not damaged when the tip part 3 of the coil is passed through the equipment.
