COMPOSITE TYPE THIN FILM MAGNETIC HEAD AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a composite type thin film magnetic head and to provide its manufacture in which a recording track width is made precise and has a magnetic core shape with reduced recording magnetic field ooze to a side surface. SOLUTION: A recording head lower part core used also as reproducing head upper part shield 105 is made thick in the part in contact with a recording gap 106 of a medium opposite surface, and is made thin in the part without contact with the recording gap 106 of the medium opposite surface and the part that a coil 107 and an insulation film 108 are formed. Thus, an element step difference height when the recording head core is formed is reduced, and the highly precise head suitable for high track density recording is realized. Further, since the effect of the recording magnetic field on a reproducing head is reduced, the head excellent in waveform stability is realized.
