Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable ultrasonic inspecting instrument which can stably correct the visual field of a liquid crystal screen. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic inspection mechanism constituted of a liquid crystal screen and various circuits or a microcomputer, is housed into a case 1 of a portable ultrasonic inspecting instrument. When the portable ultrasonic inspecting instrument is set at a position where an inspecting person is unable to observe the liquid crystal screen 2 facing it, the inspecting person mounts a polarizing plate 3 in front of the liquid crystal screen. The polarizing plate 3 is made up of a transparent body with a wedge-shaped cross section. The center line E1 of the visual field as given when the polarizing plate 3 does not exist is turned to the center line E2 of the visual field according to a difference in refractive indices of the polarizing plate 3 and air. This enables observation of the liquid crystal screen, without inclining the portable ultrasonic inspecting instrument.
