SOLUTION: In the stack S1 composed of a flat belt like material 1 and a corrugated belt like material 2, which are alternately stacked each other, the flat belt like material 1A at the center is composed of the material longer- sized than the other flat belt like material 1 and the corrugated belt like material 2. The long-sized flat belt like material 1A is composed of a long-sized belt like material having the flat plate parts (a), (b) on both end parts of the flat belt like material 1 and having the same thickness as that of the other belt like materials 1, 2. The flat plate parts (a) and (b) in the long-sized part have a length capable of winding around the outer peripheral part of the metallic honeycomb body H at least one round and overlapping to be stuck to each other when the metallic honeycomb body H is manufactured by winding the stack S1 to form.
