MOVING GUIDE DEVICE FOR MOVABLE STAND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the sliding resistance of a tail stock, in a moving guide device for guiding the movement of the tail stock placed movably on the upper surface of the bed of a lathe. SOLUTION: A connection passage 12 for communicating with a pressurized air supply source through an outer piping is installed in the base 5 of a tail stock 4. Air jetting grooves 10, 11 for communicating with the connection passage 12 is formed on the slide surfaces 6, 7 of the base 5 along a move direction. By jetting a pressurized air from the air jetting grooves 10, 11 toward the slip surfaces 2, 3 of the bed 1 when the tail stock is moved, the tail stock is floated up and a minute clearance is formed between the slip surfaces 2, 3 and the slide surfaces 6, 7.
