Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the exact position of a pig without depending on human guessing by building a magnetic substance in a pig, pressure-feeding it into a tube, and recognizing it as a changing point in a magnetic field at the outside of the tube. SOLUTION: A pig 11 with a magnetic substance built in which is constituted of permanent magnet, ferrite or the like, is moved inside a steel pipe 12. The magnetic field around the steel pipe 12 changes. A change in the magnetic field is recognized as a change in the self-induction coefficient of a coil 10, and it is converted into frequency by a LC transmitter 18. The frequency is changed into voltage through an F/V converter 19. By amplifying the voltage by an amplifier 20 and comparing its output signal with reference voltage, it is possible to detect the position of the pig 11. By measuring a required passing time (t) for the pig 11, it is also possible to measure the average moving speed of the pig 11 inside the steel pipe 12.
