Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the printing of a clear figure pattern without bleeding a dye by preapplying a specific fixing liquid for a polycationic dye to a fabric, drying the fixing liquid and then spraying a dye liquor comprising an anionic dye onto the resultant dried fabric according to an ink jet method. SOLUTION: A fabric such as Bemberg fibers is impregnated or coated with an aqueous solution of a fixing agent comprising a water-soluble polycationic polymer, prepared by hydrolyzing a copolymer of N-vinylformamide and acrylonitrile with hydrochloric acid and containing 10-90mol% monomer unit represented by formula I or II and the resultant fabric is then dried. A dye liquor containing an anionic dye selected from acid dyes, direct dyes and reactive dyes and a sizing agent selected from sodium alginate, carboxymethylcellulose(CMC), sodium polyacrylate and polyvinyl alcohol is sprayed and applied to the fabric according to an ink jet method to carry out the printing of the fabric.
