MOVING IMAGE REPRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain double speed reproduction for a moving image smoothly without decreasing number of totally delivered images. SOLUTION: When fast feeding reproduction or rewinding reproduction of any moving image information is requested from a terminal equipment A, referencing image frames Di-1, D1-2, D1-3, D1-4 belonging to an image group different from the moving image information are sequentially read of a storage device storing the moving image information and delivered to the terminal equipment. The delivered reference image frames are reproduced for a time interval smaller than a reproduction time interval of each image group in the case of usual reproduction. Thus, smoother reproduction than the conventional reproduction is realized. In this case, a ratio of a reproduction time interval to a 1 GOP reproduction time is limited to a range not in excess of a ratio of an I frame read time to a 1 GOP read time and the monopoly time of the storage device is not increased more than that at the usual reproduction.
